The Death of Lord Nelson (1882)
Towards the end of the hall to the right is a print of The Death of Lord Nelson at Trafalgar, painted in 1882 by Paul Léon Jazet. The scene shows his defeat of Napoleon in 1806. At the top of mast on the French ship, you will see the sniper shooting Lord Nelson. Nelson was a British flag officer in the Royal Navy, and helped aid Britain in many victories during the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. Nelson famously said to his men: "England expects every man to do his duty."
