Parlor Furniture
The main set of furniture featured in the parlor is a re-upholstered Mahogany Victorian suite consisting of two sofas and 8 chairs in the French Renaissance style, most likely purchased by Mrs. Eugenia Stubbs Layton in the early 1900's.
Victorian style furniture is known for its dark wood finishes and gilded ornamentation. This style was influenced by the Renaissance and Gothic eras as well.
Victorian side tables with marble tops can also be seen around the room.
